David Minasian Newsletter #5

What? No newsletters for nearly two years and then suddenly two in one month? Well, I’ll keep this one short and sweet…

Recently returned from Atlanta where we managed to film the final stop on Justin Hayward’s solo tour for a brand new DVD release which I am producing & directing. It was an amazing show and it has now been captured in hi-def for posterity. Justin, as you all know, is lead singer & guitarist with the Moody Blues who has written and performed such classics as Nights in White Satin, Tuesday Afternoon, Question, The Story in Your Eyes, The Voice, Your Wildest Dreams, I Know You’re Out There Somewhere, etc.

As such, the recording of the follow up to my album Random Acts of Beauty will remain on hold until I’ve completed the post production on Justin Hayward’s live DVD. But I promise to get back to it in due time.

Cheers;
Dave

David Minasian Returns: Newsletter #4

Well, the second half of 2013 is shaping up to be very exciting. I can confirm that recording has indeed begun on the follow up to 2010’s Random Acts of Beauty, and it could very well feature the participation of a couple of amazing special guests. In addition, I have been asked to produce and direct a new concert DVD for one of the legends of the music business. Both projects should keep me busy for the remainder of the year.

Now I know it’s been awhile since there has been any news coming from the David Minasian Music camp. I had hoped to get a new album out before now, but life has a way creating its own path. The last couple of years have indeed been a challenge.

Nevertheless, recording on the new album began in June and so far, we’ve managed to get one song in the can, an untitled instrumental. In fact, recording started four years to the day since the first notes of Masquerade were laid down. Once again, I will be working with my son Justin, guitarist extraordinaire, on the new material. There is also the potential for members of two different well known bands to appear as guests on the album. Both of these bands hail from England and are considered by many to be pioneers of progressive rock. You may recall the gorgeous guitar and vocal contributions Andy Latimer of Camel made to Random Acts of Beauty. He recorded his tracks in England and sent them to me in California over the internet. The same process will be used by these band members for the new album, and as soon as I receive their parts, I will let you all in on their identities.

Soon, the recording process will go on a brief hiatus so I can join this other artist on tour and begin work on his DVD. I will try and keep you all updated on the progress.

Believe it or not, it’s been nearly three years since the release of Random Acts of Beauty and the album is still garnering rave reviews. Check these out… www.davidminasian.com/reviews.html.
My son Justin and I are truly grateful for the response the album continues to receive all over the world.

Just to let you know, I do have two official facebook accounts – a page for “David Minasian Music” which you can “like”, and a personal one for “David Minasian” where we can be friends.

Once again, thank you all for your patience… it’s going to require a little more… but hopefully you will ultimately feel it’ll have been worth the wait.

My very best;
