David Heads to Florida to Film Justin Hayward Once Again

Today, Trinity Houston and I found ourselves in Melbourne, FL filming Justin Hayward in concert on the final night of his Nights tour. We enlisted the crew of Christian Cashmir's Lightwave Media in Tampa to help out. It was a reunion of sorts as Lightwave Media had assisted me in the production of Justin's Live In Concert at the Capitol Theatre and The Story Behind Nights In White Satin DVD's back in 2014. This was the second Hayward concert we had filmed in less than a month; the previous one having taken place on October 18 at the famed Concert Hall in New York City. Tonight's show went off without a hitch, with Mike Dawes, Julie Ragins and Karmen Gould all playing magically. The question is, which show will make it to DVD... NY or FL? My money's on FL.

Grammy Winner PJ Olsson of the Alan Parsons Live Project to Appear on The Sound of Dreams

Anyone who has attended any of the Alan Parsons Live Project concerts over the last two decades will have heard the magical voice of lead singer PJ Olsson gracing many of the Project's hits. Earlier this year, PJ received the Grammy Award for his mixing efforts on Alan's 35th Anniversary Edition of the classic album Eye in the Sky. And just this week, PJ completed the mixing chores on my album The Sound of Dreams where he was kind enough to add his vocal touches to the album, which also includes contributions from Justin Hayward (The Moody Blues), Steve Hackett (Genesis), Annie Haslam (Renaissance), Billy Sherwood (Yes), Julie Ragins (Moody Blues Live), and Geof O'Keefe (Pentagram). Golden Robot Global Entertainment will be releasing the album after the first of the year.

David Teams Up with Alan Parsons and NASA for a Tribute to Apollo 11

Ever since rekindling an acquaintance with Alan Parsons, the legendary Producer, Engineer and Songwriter with The Alan Parsons Project back in February on Justin Hayward's On the Blue Cruise, things have gotten a bit crazy to say the least. In May, Wind of Heaven Producer Trinity Houston and I met in The Netherlands with Alan's band to film two of their concerts, one in Amsterdam and another in Utrecht, complete with an unprecedented 24 cameras at each of the venues. If that weren't enough, a few weeks later, we met up with the band again, this time in Israel to film an historic concert taking place in Tel Aviv featuring the band performing with an 80 piece orchestra. This last shoot formed the basis for an exciting music video tribute produced and directed by Trinity Houston and myself of one of Alan's song's from his new album The Secret called One Note Symphony. The video, created to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, was released today worldwide. Talks with Alan are continuing this week to determine his level of possible involvement in the Sound of Dreams project.

David Minasian Signs New Record Deal

Following the bankruptcy of ProgRock Records, the label I had previously been signed to, I suddenly found myself without distribution for my musical output. That is until Golden Robot Global Entertainment offered me a new international distribution contract. It is an arrangement that was initially suggested to me by none other than Yes bassist Billy Sherwood. An announcement was released today by the label detailing the deal. Under the agreement, Golden Robot Records will be releasing a newly remixed and remastered version of Random Acts of Beauty complete with a bonus track later this year, after which they will release the new star-studded Sound of Dreams album. Golden Robot is headed up by President Mark Alexander-Erber and former Gentle Giant frontman and Polygram Records CEO Derek Shulman. Many within the industry are aware that Derek single-handedly was responsible for signing such acts as Bon Jovi, Nickleback and Dream Theatre. Needless to say,  we are in good hands!
